Abstract:The safety assessment and detection of transgenic crops has become a worldwide issue. A common consensus on the safety evaluation and detection of transgenic crops has been recognized by the international community, which could provide a strong security for its commercialization. In this review, we have elaborated the development of risk assessment and detection technologies of transgenic crops (including marker genes), to provide a reference for the safety management of genetically modified organisms and benefit for people to understand the safety of genetically modified organisms. These involving evaluation and detection methods need further improvements and renovations to meet the large-scale commercialization of genetically modified organisms in the future.
