This paper attempts to discuss the ontological foundation in Wang Fuzhi’s philosophy.Wang Fuzhi grounded his philosophy on the mutuality between subject and object,between Ti (noumena) and Yong (function),thus established a relation philosophy based on the mutuality between subject and object indispensable to each other and transcending the paradigm of thought that takes one side of subject and object as holding absolute logical priority.The attributes of beings always change and beings themselves also exist in a process of continuous recreation.Therefore,Tao and humanity are also in a continuous metabolic and recreating process.The grounding of Wang Fuzhi’s process philosophy smashes the linear and rigid world view,and highlights the creativity,spontaneity and openness of both the world and human beings,committing to renovating promises for the ontological status and significance of human beings in the world.
