The economic effects of land titling have received extensive attention from the academia，but few studies have focused on the political effects of land titling.Based on three-period panel data，we use a generalized DID model to assess the impact of land titling on political trust among farmers.The results show that land titling has increased the political trust of farmers at the central level by 0.142 units and at the village level by 0.215 units.Such results remain robust after accounting for parallel trends，sample randomisation，controlling for potential omitted variables，substituting explanatory variables，and replacing the econometric model.The mechanism analysis reveals that land titling affects the political trust of farmers by reducing the protection cost of land rights and increasing the income from land property rights.Further analysis finds that a higher degree of standardisation in the implementation of land titling does not affect political trust of farmers at the central level，but significantly increases the level of their political trust at the village level.It is thus argued that land titling， in addition to generating economic effects， is also an effective way for the government to invest in the political trust of farmers.
