With the deepening integration of digital technologies into agriculture, digital talents have emerged as a pivotal force in advancing new quality productive forces in the sector. Based on the Marxist productivity theory, an analysis of the logical connections reveals that: the digital execution capability of digital talent facilitates the organic integration of farmers into new-quality agricultural productive forces, reinforcing the subjective logic of their development; the digital strategic vision of digital talent supports the upgrading of agricultural means of production, strengthening the instrumental logic of their development; the digital thinking model helps expand the forms of agricultural labor objects, reinforcing the object-oriented logic of their development; and the digital innovation ability of digital talents is conducive to optimizing the configuration of agricultural production factors, enhancing the systemic logic of the development. However, in the practical application of digital talents empowering agricultural new quality productivity, several challenges persist, including the need to enhance the leading effect, strengthen the activation effect, transform thinking methods, and stimulate the exponential (amplification) effect. In the future, efforts should be made to fully leverage empowering the role of digital talents by building a new type of agricultural workforce, improving the quality and efficiency of agricultural tools, expanding the scope of agricultural labor objects, optimizing the allocation of agricultural production factors, and strengthening the top-level design of digital talents.
