The introductory song to Suzhou Tanci Du Shi Niang is converted from the novel Du Shi Niang by Feng Menglong,a man of letters in Ming Dynasty.It is an excellent segment sung by the representative singer of Jiang Tune and famous artist Jiang Yuequan.This paper makes an analysis on the creative form,the singing style,the peculiar regional stylistic features and the cultural values of Suzhou Tanci Du Shi Niang as well as its similarities with and differences from other artistic forms.The analysis indicates that Du Shi Niang is a representative song of Jiang Tune,an excellent introductory song,and an everlasting classical story loved and sung by most people.
