Reforming farmland tenure has become the important real issue in both theoretical circle and policy-making departments.This paper reviewed the evolution of farmland tenure since China’s reform and opening to the outside world in 1978.By combining the actual situation with the problems in farmland tenure,this paper put forward several corresponding suggestions on how to reform the future farmland tenture,which include clarifying the right of land and defining team of villagers as the owners of farmland; stablizing and strengthening right to use farmland; perfecting the system of land registration and setting up land courts so as to protect farmers’ legal rights and interests.
