This paper summarized the main traits of the Beiping School, namely pure western aesthetic sense, appreciation of the beauty of human nature and dependence on traditional culture. By exemplifying Zhu Guangqian’s literature critics, this paper analyzed the traits of Beiping School embodied in his works, respectively the avocation of humanity, the classical aesthetic value and tolerance of western culture and traditional culture. Meanwhile, this paper probed into the close relationship between Zhu Guangqian and the Beiping School from his career as the chief editor of some journals. The principle and method with which he ran the journals also illustrated his intense tendency to the Beiping School. Zhu Guangqian has attained great achievements in aesthetic appreciation, yet his dominance in the Beiping School is universal.
