Abstract:Based on investigation from residents in Wuhan, this paper divides the cognition of food safety risk into three aspects to explore the status quo and influencing factors of consumers’ food safety risk perception The result shows that the impact of three classic indicators of social stratification on consumer’s food safety risk cognition is different.Annual income of the family and occupational categories have positive influence on food safety risk perception of consumers, but the effect of education is not significant.Consumers with different food safety risk perception will also take different response ways. Therefore, this paper proposes that supervision of food safety from the macro level should be strengthened and consumer’s food safety risk awareness from the micro level should be improved.
