Abstract:Peasant cooperation has two types:endogenous cooperation and exogenous cooperation. After the tax reform and the gradual withdrawal of state power from rural society, the grassroots organizations reduce the ability to mobilize peasants, and conditions of exogenous cooperation are not as good as before. So the importance of endogenous cooperation has gradually been highlighted.Based on the case study of road repair in Orange Village, this paper explores four factors on how to realize endogenous peasant cooperation under the guidance of the grassroots government and village-level organizations. These four factors include appropriate scale of cooperation, playing the leading role of the activists, establishment of a reasonable cost sharing and benefit sharing mechanism and top-down and bottom-up combination mechanism of public goods supply. At the same time, these four factors are interrelated and interacted.
