Abstract:The income growth of farmers is the core target in developing modern agriculture, and rural industry convergence can increase rural household income by expanding scope of income, closely linking interests and so on.Based on micro survey data of rural households in 2016,this paper adopts variable control and Propensity Score Matching (PSM) method to empirically analyze the effect of industry convergence on rural household income. The result shows that compared with traditional agriculture in a single development mode, rural industry convergence can significantly increase the rural household income, and the impact of it on rural household income should be above fifty percent. The policy implication of this study is that rural industry convergence is the critical path to promote the rural household income growth. From the policy level,it should be encouraged to develop various kinds of industry convergence and build closer ties for the linkage of interests. With improving the performance of industry development,a substantial increase in rural household income will be promoted.
