Abstract:Based on data collected from urban residents in Chongqing,Hubei and Zhejiang,this paper analyzes the acceptance attitude towards GM rice among Chinese urban residents and compares regional differences.The result shows that urban residents’ acceptance attitudes towards GM rice have obvious regional differences.The acceptance attitudes of subsamples from Chongqing and Hubei are higher than that of Zhejiang.From the affecting factors,urban residents’ acceptance attitude towards GM rice is mainly affected by benefit perception of food safety,trust on S&T system and risk perception of health and environment.By comparing subsamples,urban residents in Zhejiang are highly affected by risk perception factors than that of Chongqing and Hubei.Therefore,this paper proposes several suggestions on how to emphasize food safety and cultivate autonomous system of science in the management of the risk of agricultural science and technology.
