Abstract:Based on the Micro-survey data of peach farmers in Jiangsu Province in 2016,this research uses the stochastic frontier production function model to examine the differences in the production efficiency of peach farmers under three different kinds of production organization models and then further analyzes the factors that affect farmers’ technical efficiency. Results show that there are significant differences in production technical efficiency of peach farmers under different organizational models.Farmers who are members of cooperatives obtain the highest production technical efficiency values, followed by farmers who sign contracts with companies, while farmers who face the market directly get lowest ones.Organized agricultural production modes can effectively improve the production technical efficiency of peach farmers by improving the configuration of factor input.Among the main factors affecting the technical efficiency, planting areas, planting years and levels of education of farmers have significant effects on the technical efficiency of farmers under each kind of production modes, but the direction and extent vary with production modes. The number of households and the times farmers participating in technical training have negative impacts for farmers who are members of cooperatives.
