Abstract:During the process of social transformation in China’s rural areas,inter-generational relations have gradually become one of the themes of family studies. However, the established studies are short of systematic analysis on the connotation, structure and influencing factors of parental responsibility in inter-generational relations. This paper introduces the parental pressure model as explanatory framework, uses the relationship between parent’s capability and parental responsibility as a research entry point and analyzes the relative variables which influence the model, such as the number of children’s sex,the chain of parental responsibility, space condition, time scalability and uncertainty of the implementation. This paper constructs the parental pressure model to show the structural characteristics and overall characteristics of parental responsibility with the aim to provide an operational analysis framework for the study of parental responsibility.
