Abstract:Using Scale-free Network to simulate the group of farmers, this paper studies the Herd Behavior in Acreage Decision Making for farmers with multiagent simulation method.Firstly,a simulation model using Scale-free Network is designed and implemented, which demonstrates Herding effects and represents the connections between farmers and message flowing.Secondly, based on this model,Acreage Decision Making in a Scale-free Network is validated and analyzed from two perspectives, farmers’ risk preference and influences of message path and message transfer length. This research focuses on Scalefree Network for farmers’ connections, message transfer and mutual impacts of individual farmers, which proves to be a different research method compared with the traditional property and statistical methodology. The research results show that farmers’ following behavior is more affected by individual interaction and not significantly affected by the distance of message transfer between individual farmers.
