Divorce is becoming increasingly common in rural areas.An investigation into the divorce phenomenon in rural areas of northeast China reveals that there is a close relationship between the local high divorce rate and the prevalence of extramarital affairs.In China’s rural society,private life and public life are inseparable,which means the research on divorce should be integrated into peasants’ daily life.Based on the framework of village publicity,this paper summarizes three major reasons for the high divorce rate there,namely weak family ethics,weak village publicity and open daily life.In the flow and transformation of private life,both personal ideas and the significance and value of family and acquaintance society to individuals urge for rebuilding.Therefore,to rebuild the public character of village and to reconstruct the order of private life rely on the restoration of the sanctity of Chinese family.
