Abstract:This paper establishes a two-way fixed effect model, and discusses the impact and transmission mechanisms of agricultural machinery technology and Internet technology progress on rural internal trust in China based on panel data from China Family Panel Studies from 2014 to 2018. The research results show that the advancement of agricultural machinery technology and internet technology has significantly increased rural internal trust. On the one hand, agricultural machinery technology progress has weakened the production collaboration among farmers. On the other hand,it has provided opportunities for the coordination of unified mechanical farming among farmers in the same area, strengthening the limited and generalized trust in rural areas. Internet technology progress has shortened the psychological distance between rural and urban areas, breaking the seclusion of traditional villages and strengthening the generalized trust in the countryside by broadening the social interaction and social network of the villagers.
