The antagonistic activity of an endophytic bacterium BYG2-5 against Colletotrichum musae was studied on cultural medium. The results showed that strain BYG2-5 significantly inhibited the mycelial growth of C.musae with the inhibition zone reaching up to 18 mm.The fermentation fluid and its filtrate showed a high efficacy in suppression of infection caused by C.musae on banana fruits.Especially, treatment effect of the fermentation fluid was 80.6% against C.musae. The strain was identified as Bacillus litoralis based on its morphology, physiological biochemistry and 16S rDNA sequence.
